We take a full set of measurements and use them to draw the pattern. This is where custom separates from everything off the rack. Two people can share a chest size and still need quite different garments, because shoulders slope their own way, posture differs, and arms and torsos run to different lengths. A drafted pattern accounts for all of that. We also build in the ease you need to move freely, which is a deliberate decision we make with you rather than a happy accident of grading.

Fabric Selection

You choose the cloth alongside us, and the choice is as practical as it is about looks. A garment that has to take real outdoor use wants something heavier and woven tight enough to resist abrasion. A piece for a dressier occasion can run lighter and more refined. Weight, weave, and fiber all change how a fabric drapes, how warm it wears, and how it ages, so we go through the options with your intended use sitting right there on the table between us. Nobody picks cloth in the abstract here.

Fittings

Once the garment is partway built, you come in and put it on. That usually happens about three times across a project. At each fitting we have you move through the things you'll actually do in it, then mark whatever needs changing. Seeing the piece on a body while it's still in progress is what gets the fit right, because cloth behaves one way flat on a table and another way once it's on you. A good share of the real fit work gets settled at this stage.

Pricing and Timeline

Price comes down mainly to two things: the cloth you pick and the construction the garment needs. A simple piece in a moderate fabric runs less than a heavily structured, hand-finished garment in a premium cloth, and you decide where on that range you want to land. We're clear about cost before any work begins, so nothing catches you off guard once we're underway. On timing, figure roughly four to eight weeks from the first consultation to a finished garment, depending on what you're having made and how much detailed handwork it calls for, with the fittings spaced across that stretch. We also include a settling-in adjustment within thirty days of finishing, since a new garment relaxes a little over the first several wears and a small tweak then keeps everything sitting where it should.
